$100.8 Million Investment in National Environments for Indigenous Health Research (NEIHR) Program Announced at UVIC

On July 16, 2019 at the University of Victoria, the Scientific Director of the Institute of Indigenous Peoples’ Health Dr. Carrie Bourassa and Canada’s Minister of Health Ginette Petitpas announced the largest single investment into Indigenous health research that the federal government has ever committed. The $100.8 million investment will be rolled out over 16 years to establish a network of centres focused on capacity development, research and knowledge translation, and better health outcomes for Indigenous communities.
